Publications and Writing
Since 1990 my work has been included in numerous quilt-related publications and I have been profiled on several occasions in various Australian quilting magazines.
Between 1998 and 2003 I was a frequent contributor of articles and projects to various Australian quilt magazines.
From the late 80s I have been involved in hanging and organising our local quilt group (Lake Mulwala Quilters) exhibition.
From 1996-1999 I was a committee member of Victorian Quilters Inc. and during that time had experience with hanging large quilt shows.
On three of the occasions on which I had solo exhibitions I hung them and I have also been involved in all aspects of the preparation, planning and hanging of our ZigZag exhibitions (with the exception of hanging the last of these, tripARTite, which was hung by Wangaratta Exhibitions Gallery staff.)
I have judged textile work on many occasions from various country agricultural shows to state quilt guild exhibitions. I was one of three judges for the Australian National Quilt Award in 2002. In 2009 I judged the Canberra Quilters exhibition and in Dec 2011 I was one of two judges for One Step Further, the contemporary quilt exhibition of Victorian Quilters Inc. which was held at the Wangaratta Art Gallery.
Trained as a secondary school Art and Craft teacher I taught at North Geelong High School for three years and then moved on to employment in a family retail textile business. Since 1983 I have taught on a regular basis. Beginning with classes for Adult Education in Yarrawonga, I progressed to teaching for shops and groups in the region.
Currently I teach Australia wide at various Textile Forums, Quilt Symposiums and Quilt Weekends.
I have also taught in New Zealand twice and am about to embark on my third trip to New Zealand to teach at the Quilt Wellington and then in Hamilton and Auckland.
I have been invited to be a guest speaker on a number of occasions, notably at QUENK (Quilt Encounters of a Northern Kind) in Hamilton, New Zealand and at TAG (Textiles @ the Guild), a sub-group of the Embroiderers Guild of Victoria.
